Diamond Multimedia recently introduced the Diamond Rio 500, a portable MP3 player.  This walkman-like device comes packed with 64 megabytes of memory and can store up to two hours of music.

Music is downloaded directly into the Rio from a PC or Mac.  Unlike previous versions of the Rio, the 500 comes with a USB connector to help speed download times.  This device weighs a mere 2.75 ounces and is skip-free (there are no moving parts) so you can take it anywhere.

A cassette adapter for car stereos is available.  The Rio 500 is the first portable MP3 player to support the Mac as well as the PC.  Cost is about $275.  For more information, see the Diamond Rio 500 page.
