Google has replaced Overture as the top-rated search engine on SquirrelNet.com's Top 20 Search Engine list. In recent times, the quantity of quality of Google's indexing has decreased dramatically, while Overture was bought by Yahoo and no longer exists in its prior form. Unique upstarts like Answers.com enter SquirrelNet.com's Top 20 Search Engines list for the first time while other well-known sites like DealTime, HotBot and Sprinks have been removed from the list.
When asked which site best helps to find internet information, about two-thirds preferred Google over Yahoo. This indicates that Yahoo is still an information-rich resource, but a search engine like Google is needed to expand the information reach.
Google has displaced AltaVista in our favorite search engine for difficult searches. They have a large database and their relevancy ranks second only to Overture.
